How Does the Candex Fee Work?

For Sellers

The Candex fee is usually 3%. The amount authorized to you will incorporate this fee and is clearly shown when accepting an order.

For Buyers

Candex helps your company engage and pay small or one-time vendors without onboarding them into your internal systems. There are no ongoing licensing or maintenance costs to use Candex. Instead, we apply a service fee per transaction, usually 3%.

Depending on how your workflow is configured, this fee may be covered by your company or by your vendors

If using the Candex punchout catalog:

When creating a requisition in your eProcurement system via the Candex Punchout Catalog:

  • Enter the vendor’s quoted amount in either Vendor Gets or You Pay
  • The other value will update automatically to reflect Candex’s 3% fee

For example:

  • If you enter $1,000 in Vendor Gets, You Pay will show $1,030 — your company covers the fee
  • If you enter $1,000 in You Pay, Vendor Gets will show $970 — the vendor covers the fee

Note: Please inform your vendor in advance if you intend for them to cover the Candex fee

If using Candex WebApp:

If you're not using Punchout and creating the order manually:

  • To cover the fee: Get a PO approved for the vendor's quote plus Candex’s 3% fee
    • Example: Vendor quotes $1,000 → PO should be for $1,030
  • If the vendor is covering the fee: Get a PO approved for the vendor’s quoted amount
    • Example: Vendor quotes $1,000 → PO remains $1,000, vendor receives $970

Note: Please inform your vendor in advance if you intend for them to cover the Candex fee
